Hopefully the new people at DOL will stop over-scrutinizing PERM filings and let the processing time go back to normal levels! Let's be optimistic!
It has take mine for eight months now...since May 2008 (got audited). I really don't know what else can be done to make the point to DOL how frustrated it is to wait for the lengthy PERM process. I am sure many are still waiting and their caes are back to July - Aug 2007.

They do that sometimes. No matter. They will pass on your message. I had the same experience with Rep. Hinojosa's office. Key is though to call all of the congressmen and let your concerns known. All the others were very polite in talking.

How do you know that US masters degree dont need to work for consulting firms?
Do US masters degree holders work for Deloitte? IBM Global Services? Accenture? KPMG? Price Water House Coopers?
What about Oracle consulting services? What about TRW? Bearingpoint?
All these are consulting companies or the divisions of consulting companies. Both US degree holders and the non-US degree holding duffers like myself work in consulting firms(I dont anymore since 2003). In fact, I have had my classmates from India have to look for consulting jobs after they did MS in computer science from USA.
You are under the impression that the bill is outlawing desi consulting firms and firms that exploit.
The bill outlaws OUTPLACEMENT. And the bill applies to all firms, desi firms and the big 5 consulting firms and your IBM, TRW ... everyone.
Please read the bill and read the description in the first post.
And although I am the last one to engage in US-degree versus non-US degree and Masters Versus Non-Masters fueds, I am tempted to say that US masters or US degree isnt worth a bucket of warm spit when the market is bad.
When the market is really bad, like it was in 2001 and 2002, I have seen many Masters degree holders pack up and throw in the towel and I have seen many individuals with degrees from private Tier 3 university from India survive just fine in an environment where there were 80 resumes for each IT job. The US masters degree holders, particularly with computer masters degrees with their courses in useless subjects like "assembly level programming" and their binary math didnt do squat for them while looking for jobs during recession times and could not stand competition from bachelor's degree holders from Tier 3 university from India who had done 6 month course in NIIT.
However if you are proud of your US degree and US masters, suit yourself. But dont say things like "I dont need consulting". Coz you really do and so do thousands of others having US degrees.
This H1B drama has really brought out the "indian" in each one of us (you). God Forbid, some of the anti-immigrant agencies see this, we will no face to fight.
To say something like what logiclife has said only brings out the true face of the some people behind immigrationvoice.org. It all boils down to "who has a US degree and who hasnt"..well, Mr logiclife, You dont know the value of a US degree simply because you dont have one! I want my GC as much as some people here without a US degree, but to classify a US degree as being the same as "warm spit" is just plain "uneducated". I thought i was the oldest, but someone got a GC this week after 16 yrs wait. my first attempt was in 1998 sept (never filed and sat in the lawyers office for 6 months) while i was working hard. Second went into NY DOL (2001) and after 4 yrs my company shut down - labor was in backlog center. Last attempt started in 2005. Aug 11th it will be 15 yrs. Not sure what i am doing here or why i am clinging on to this. Hanging in the same field, no growth and no enthu. Most of my friends put up their citizenship oath taking pics in facebook or are back in india

Do we just need copies of the birth or marriage certificates or do we need to send in notarized or original documents.
I have copy of my birth certificate which I have been reusing. Not sure where the original is.

Today my attorney said that if it hasnt moved for two visa bulletins in the fiscal year then he is almost sure (using 27 year experience in immigration) that it will not move much this year.

dont worry the dates will move. Ask your attorney if he is willing to take a bet on that.
this year is "special". The July VB filings, the rush of approvals in teh last 2-3 months... lots of things have happened this year that have never happened in the past.

Looking at the Approval trend, it looks like TSC and NSC are not following the FIFO (Based on PD, ND etc) when approval. More than half of the approvals are after my PD.
Any one has any idea of approximately many EB2-I cases were approved last year in Sept 2008. Because of the out of turn approvals random date approvals I may be loosing chance once again this time.
I had RFE's for my wife's and my I485 way back in March 09 and after we replied to the RFE's and there multiple LUD's and Soft LUD's till 04/14/2009. On 04/04/2009 last Soft LUD was on my Wife's , Daughter (she never got any RFE) and my case and since then no updates. I was assuming that my case is PreAdjudicated and had high hopes.
Once again seeing an inefficient and irresponsible USCIS being unfair...

I wonder how much power these committees have. It is clear from her letter that DOS/DHS chose not to respond to her or send her any info and defy her request to continue accepting AOS applications until she had a chance to review the matter closely. Committee has the subpoena power to force the document release and hold hearing but if DOS/DHS ignore her letter again, I wonder what would she do.
I guess the deadline is tomorrow so we'll see how this unfolds.

I efiled the EAD application and in the confirmation page, I got instructions to mail supporting documents to NSC. I mailed copy of the efiled receipt, copy of current EAD card which expired end of July 2010 and a copy of I-485 receipt.
My question is - are things different for efiled applications?
My EAD is expiring end of july this year. I did the same things you mentioned above.

Call 1-800-375-5283, follow the prompt to talk to someone (select the option 'your case is outside the processing time') and tell the person that you want to open a service request (SR) for your case. You should have your receipt in front of you when you call.
