people this is such less amount, ready to pay so much money for renewing visas etc, but you can't sign up for 20 or 50 every month. This is really becoming like begging..I do understand everyone has family commitment and other financial need but $20/month is not too much !!

There are total 78 approvals for EB3-India for this financial Year and now EB3-I is unavailable for rest of the year.
At this pace, it will take hundreds of years for EB3-I backlog to clear. This per country cap and new spill over process is killing EB3-I and there are no hopes.
We must do something. I wrote several letters to Local Senators, Ms Lofgren, Mr. President, Mr. Vice President but nobody offered any help for me.
Now I am ready for hunger strike. Anybody ?

As pappu stated in the first post of the above referenced thread - some of the ongoing efforts include finding how many IV members would get benefit from such a provision and get basic details such as username/Priority Date of impacted members. Future action items might include drafting documents and letters to support this provision. There maybe actions such as sending emails etc. However we would not be able to open a public action item unless we can have thousands of our members willing to participate in a grassroots action item. This survey intends to understand the needs of our membership for this provision and collect grassroots information.
The fact is we have a dedicated group of volunteers (and we need more) who have been trying their best to spread the message about this initiative so that a strong grass-roots support can be created leading up to launch of the public action items. So far we have around 1100 people who have responded. Based on quick calculations carried out using PERM data, it is estimated that there are at least 60K-70K EB applicants waiting to file I-485/EAD/AP (this is a very conservative estimate..the actual number could be much more). Grass-roots initiatives require time and patience and we request maximum number of impacted folks to participate actively.

Agreed. Changing the spillover rule is the easiest in this bad economy.
How about we propose to USCIS/DOS to give spillover based on PD and not based on Category. This way EB3-I and EB2-I will move forward steadily without any fuss. I know initially it will help most of EB3-I but once EB3-I catches up with EB2-I then both can move forward together.
Just a thought. I am sure EB2-I will give me lots of reds but I don't care.

Received our approval notices in the mail today. Infact, our immigration attorney received them first. No emails, no SMS, no SRs. Online status still shows "Initial Review".
Its been almost 10 years to the date. I wish all my friends on IV good luck and hang in there.
Along the journey, IV has provided a lot of help & support and I will certainly be sticking around to help in whatever way I can.

I had discussion with Mr.Gotcher about this issue. He said, AILA is collecting information on this matter and they are pursuing with Altanta center. But he does not believe or expect any positive outcome. As said earlier he insist to send a formal complaint with OIG and offered his time/help. As its affecting large group of people he refused to accept any fee. I offered we are ready to cover any expense which he might incurr, but seems like it would be very less and he offered free service. Mr.Gotcher will draft a letter in a week time. What we need now - lot support and signature. We do not need to provide any case number. so I dont believe there would be any consequence. So guys please come forward. Spread this news as much as possible and get enough support. Help yourself and get out of this mess.

I heard the following on the southern california talk radio. They mention that there are some blogs that speculate on how and what the conference will compromise. I am searching for the blogs they mentioned, i will post the link if i find them or if it is relevant to work related immigration.

They also mention that it will take 3-4 yeas to set up the infrastructure to handle the increased workload. The undocumented workers will be able to apply by 2009 or so" nothing was mentioned about H1 and EB related issues.

I am part of MN Chapter and attended the rally. It was a wonderful experience. I am proud to part of IV family and I am sure that lawmakers will listen to our voice. It was also exciting to see faces behind the IV names.

I'm 06 and I know exactly what u r saying...Many 06 guyz got approved in 2008 but all those cases were from TSC where the processing times had reached 06. Freakin NSC was behind in processing and hence our cases were stuck. I'm assuming ur case is at NSC....
But come to the present day, everything is in place for our approvals. I'm confident v all will get it this time. Just a matter of time and its frustrating rt now...YES.
I went through the same frustration in 2008 when many 2006 got approved even when my date was current.
Looks like the same thing is going to happen again -- most of the approvals are from 2006 and I am still stuck forever..what the *&%^ing going on....

Hi!
We are in the process of filing a h1 extension for my husband using H1/H4 decoupling rule. He worked here on H1 for 5 years 5 months. According to which he will have 7months of H1 time and that will be 9.5 months including vacation time spent outside the country while on H1. Today we talked toa recruiter while reviewing the documents he mentioned that when we applied for change of status for him from h1 to H4 it took 4 months for the H4 approval to come through, those 4.5 months he is in a pending status. He is not sure if we can use that time for the H1 extension we want to file now. If we cannot use that time then he is left with another 4 months time of H1

My PD is 31st march...so u will get the good news shortly. Minimum on my PERM were 7 yrs or Masters + 3 yrs
My EB-2 PERM got approved as well last week. MS + 6 yrs or BS + 8 yrs, S/W research engineer in mobile communications R&D. I work for a very large company (400k+ employees) and the attorneys were almost certain that my case will be audited. I am glad it was not audited because of high exp requirements that my job requires.
