it looks like many folks got their approval one day after filing an SR - coincidence or a trigger? Is filing the SR somehow triggering the IOs to look at your file ?
However, many people who filed SR on the first working day of the month 08/02 were not approved the next day. Also, the many others who bombarded the USCIS with multiple requests/queries had to wait much longer or are still waiting.
It is almost like the IOs didn't like to be bothered on the first working day of this month (when the begin working on a fresh set of files) and also didn't like to be pushed too much.
Or is this all just a super coincidence for hundreds of people?

Response FROM Vonage:
Dear XXXXXX XXXXX,
As per our recent emails, thank you for agreeing to decrease your usage. Please note that your account will continue to be monitored for usage for 7 days and that you can track your minutes (combined domestic & international) from your Online Account under the Monthly Usage Summary in the Billing section. Should we see that the usage continues to be inconsistent with normal use, we would then have to take action on the account. For more information, please refer to our Terms of Service section 5.4. 5.4 Inconsistent with Normal Use. If you use the service or the device in a way that is inconsistent with the normal use for your service or plan, you will be required, at Vonage's sole discretion, to pay the rates for the service or plan that would apply to the way you used the service or device, or terminate the plan. For example, if you subscribe to one of our residential service plans, and your usage is inconsistent with normal residential use, you may thereafter be required to pay our applicable, higher rates for commercial service for all periods in which your use of our service or the device was inconsistent with normal residential use. Unlimited voice services are provided primarily for continuous live dialog between two individuals. Lack of continuous dialog activity, unusual call patterns, excessive numbers and/or consistent excessive usage (i.e., More than 5,000 minutes per line per month for unlimited residential calling and/or more than 10,000 minutes per line per month for unlimited small business calling), will be considered indicators that use may be inconsistent with normal use, or that impermissible use may be occurring and may trigger an account review by us. The creation or use of related multiple accounts or excessive residential lines to circumvent these levels shall also be considered indicators that use of the service may be inconsistent with normal use for the subscribed monthly plan(s) and may trigger an account review by Vonage. Failure to contact Vonage in response to its notifications and/or failure to promptly correct usage activity to conform to normal use will result, in Vonage's sole discretion, in immediate mandatory transfer to another appropriate plan, suspension or termination of service. You acknowledge that if your service is terminated under this provision, you are subject to all applicable disconnection and device or other rebate recovery charges. Vonage's right to terminate your account under Section 6.5(b) (with or no reason) is not limited by this provision. For a non-exhaustive list of example!s of uses of our service inconsistent with normal residential use, see below.bbb If you have any questions,
please reply to this email or contact me at 1-(866)-254-3704.

Yes it is a concern that I have to address. However I see 2 ways to work around it.
1. Travel out of country get H4 stamping done based on my current H1B status
or
2. I apply for I-485 and add my wife later to the application when we have received her H4. In this case, once I have applied, I can add my wife to the application even if the dates are not current at that time.
If I were you and my priority dates were current, I would go for 1 above [get H-4 stamped ASAP and enter in US and apply for I-485].

Caliguy,
POJ method can be used for all cases that are current and in the processing window...just keep on trying ur luck and I am sure you'll land a decent CSR who will be much much more useful and worth your trials and efforts.
Be persistent and you have every right to be after all you came this far.
Write to Janet Napolitano and mention that you are unfairly getting delayed and that you want to know what is holding your application and all checks and clearances done and visa number is available...

I got one more email with the update (this is third email with the same staus "CPO"). This time I have SLUD on EAD and AP also. Here is the email...
Application Type: I485 , APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS
Your Case Status: Card/ Document Production
On September 14, 2010 we mailed the document to the address we have on file. You should receive the new document within 30 days. If you do not, or if you move before you get it, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.
My wife received here Welcome letter but I did not get one yet. Here is my timeline...
09/08/2010 - CPO emails for self and wife
09/09/2010 - Got emails updating the status to Decision for self and wife
09/10/2010 - Standard CPO email to self
09/11/2010 - Wife got the welcome letter (I-797) by USPS
09/15/2010 - CPO email to self with the new message (Document sent to address on file)
Still waiting for cards in hand.
Thanks,
Tempy
Mine is somewhat similar
09/10/2010 - CPO emails for self and wife (Friday)
09/11/2010 - Got emails updating status to Decision for self and wife (Saturday)
09/13/2010 - Got CPO for wife and SLUD for me in the morning and CPO for me in the evening
I have not received any welcome notice till now, but it is too early as I guess I have to wait till Friday or Saturday.
Looks like there is no specific pattern in the way this is handled. Some get Decision first followed by CPO followed by post decision activity, some get CPO first, some get post decision activity.

Visa mix-up brings flood of flowers in protest
By LEAH RAE
Hundreds of legal immigrants are resorting to a new tactic this week in their pursuit of green cards: sending flowers to the head of U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.
The publicity stunt follows lobbying efforts and lawsuits protesting a sudden change in the rules that govern employer-sponsored immigrants. After rushing to submit green-card applications by July 2, the immigrants were told at the last minute to keep waiting.
Notes being delivered to Emilio Gonzalez, head of USCIS, along with the bouquets skip over the pleasantries and speak directly to the bureaucracy.
"Kindly do not return our I-485 petitions in July," the messages say, "and honor the original DOS visa bulletin."
The dispute concerns a U.S. Department of State bulletin from mid-June, dictating who could apply for an immigrant visa. The application is the final hurdle in getting a green card, or permanent residency. Because of a backlog, immigrants spend years waiting their turn, but the unusual June bulletin gave most job-based immigrants the go-ahead to apply.
Jakub Gorecki, who lives in Spring Valley, hurried to get his paperwork together in time. The thick packet of documents - medical exams, vaccination records, a birth certificate from Poland, a $325 application fee - was to arrive July 2 at USCIS, he said.
But that morning, a new bulletin came out, canceling the offer. No applications would be accepted until the new fiscal year in October.
The reversal sent Gorecki and others back to a limbo state.

Did anyone see any Soft LUDs on their 485 or old EADs before their approvals/RFEs?
My PD is June 7 2006, not current. Yesterday, I had a soft LUD on my 485 and my first EAD. These two haven't seen any activity since early 2009, and I'm wondering if this means anything or if I'm reading into this a little too much.
thanks,

I called the Nogales (mexico) US embassy and they were able to look up the PIMS system using the petition number.
I hope the PIMS is a "centralized" system. So even the consulate in India would be using the same.

I am only seeing only 100% illegal discrimination in these scenarios. Pretty soon, they will stop hiring US citizes of Indian (or Chines or Japanese or Italians ..) origin.
This is plain stupidity. These employers should first take a good look at an EAD and a GC. As for as work authorization is concerned, both these cards provide us with the same rights. The EAD says The person identified is authorized to work in the US for the validity of this card where as the GC says The person identified by the card is authorized to work and remain in the US.
So why does the legal department come into picture here? Is it because of the expiry date associated with EADs? If thats the case even a GC has got an expiration date (a later date maybe). Does that mean that an additional budget is required to hire GC holders?

Hi,
I am currently working in Skilled visa through one of MNC company.I am working for this company for last 4 years and prior to this company i worked in another small company for two years. When I join my current company i provided all the legal document like exp, last two month pay stub and releiving letter and they did BG . They did not find anything wrong with prior employer in last 4 year. recently they found something wrong about my prior employer and asking me providing additional document and unfortunately company is closed or rename. I have told my current employer that i don't have any more evidance of my prior employer.Because of this reason they are asking me to come back india.
Is there any way that i can take legal action against this company in US because from last one week
they are harrassing my like anything.
Please let me know if anyone come across in this situation.
They are just giving you BS. They are trying to use a fake reason to send you back to India. They might be using this fake reason (BG check) to avoid any legal hassles. Keep track of how they are harassing you, keep a copy of all emails and documents used in correspondence in this matter and complain to DOL.

Hi all,
I am planning for a trip to india and get my first visa stamping done some time in may. My visa was approved in july 2007. Does anyone think that this issue will prolong till may? Or will all these database updates for the PIMS verification checks be complete by then? Any inputs will be highly appreciated. Thanks.
Hi Bhagyesh,
From what I have gathered in the PIMS ruling is that cases approved after the PIMS ruling implementation will be put in the database first followed by cases that were approved prior...
Anyone else gather this from the PIMS ruling please let me know...and correct me if I am wrong.

I think you meant to say 2800 not 5800. I'm correcting your statement.
So India regular quota for the last six months : 2800/2 = 1400
Since dates have not moved, I am assuming 1400 should also be considered towards porting.
so my conclusion is so far 1200 + 1400 = 2600 porting already took place. (though only 1400 really got GC)
Thanks for the pointing this . Corrected the original post to reflect the same.
(I was thinking of china so 2800 became 5800 :) )
